Virginia + Tim married at the Brazilian Room, Berkeley Hills, CA

We have been planning Virginia and Tim’s wedding for over a year now, and yesterday they were married at the Brazilian Room in the Tilden Regional Park, located in the Berkeley Hills.  It was a gorgeous day filled with bright sunshine which made the day ceremony and lunch reception all the more beautiful with the Hills as the natural backdrop.  The couple had a palette of light pink, fuchsia and black and since they were such foodies, decided to name their tables after their favorite restaurants from the US and Canada.  Aside from planning the wedding, we had the pleasure of designing the wedding as well by providing all the graphic design and decor elements for the Bride and Groom’s Big Day.

Have a look at the photos taken from our camera as we await the official photos from Jay Kelly Photography, it’s absolute pink bliss!

Custom Made programs, designed by Charmed Events Group, were passed out to guests as they walked down the Brazil Room walkway, which was lined with black lanterns filled with ivory and light pink rose petals.

The wedding arch and ceremony set up looked gorgeous against the Berkeley Hills greenery.

We got a candid shot of the Bride and her bridesmaids while they were taking photos prior to the ceremony

While the Bride was taking solo shots, the Bridesmaids were kind enough to flash a smile for us.  We loved their hot pink dresses!

We also got a smile from the Bride herself

The Bride and Groom chose to perform a sand ceremony during the wedding, they had the vase engraved with their initials and it absolutely made for a great keepsake of their special day after the difference colored sands were joined.

During cocktail hour, the guests had a chance to take polaroids of themselves and write a small message to give to the Bride and Groom.

Upon entering the reception room, guests had the fun of finding which “foodie” table they were assigned to.  To make things easier for the guests, we also created a map of where each table was to be located for better finding!

Here’s a close-up shot of some of the escort cards.  We sure had fun designing these!

The Brazil Room looked absolutely gorgeous with the colorful pinks accented by the white chairs and wooden floors and beams.

Personalized menus with each guests name served double duty as a place card and menu for lunch.

For centerpieces, we conceptualized curly willow trees so that the Bride and Groom could hang their engagement photos off of the branches as well as hanging crystals.  Floral Sunshine, based out of Portland, OR was kind enough to provide the floral elements for the wedding.  The designer is a relative of the Groom which made the flowers all the more special.

The Bride and Groom had a Sweetheart Table which gave them the intimacy of enjoying their first meal together as husband and wife.

Guests were given fortune cookies dipped in chocolate and sprinkles as a thank you favor for attending.  These were made from TLC from the Bride and her bridesmaids.

This is me with the Bride and Groom at the end of the day.

Congratulations again to Virginia and Tim!  Thank you so much for allowing us the pleasure of planning your special day!

Destination Wedding in Bali

I had the great pleasure of having the opportunity to attend a Destination Wedding in Bali, Indonesia.  It was absolutely luxuriously delightful in that it had the exotic factor, it was breathtakingly beautiful…and did I mention that it was in Bali?  Jack and Maggie were married on July 4, 2010 and usually I wouldn’t miss fireworks for the world, but this time, I think my fourth of July was spectacular on its own accord.  Have a look!

The wedding took place at the prestigious Conrad Hotel at the Infinity Chapel.  This Chapel was incredible as it was all glass surrounded by a water with a walkway leading up to the chapel, with the ocean as its background.  There were live, Balinese singers that sang as the Bride and Groom walked in and the maximum capacity of 60 made the ceremony all the more intimate and beautiful.

As the ceremony concluded, all the guests lined the walkway on the water to shower the Bride and Groom with rose petals.  What a wonderful and surreal way to be greeted and congratulated by guests!

After the ceremony, all the guests were shuttled to another private hotel and again, the banquet room was an all glass room sitting afloat shallow water with tiki torches lining the wooden walkways.  Ivory pomanders hung from the ceiling and exotic, local ivory and lime green flowers accentuated the tables.

Guests were pampered with a luxurious five course meal followed by a grueling roast of the Bride and Groom.  All guests had a wonderful time at the reception, including yours truly (bottom right corner in a lime green dress) and the Bride and Groom truly gave all of us and especially themselves, a celebration that will be forever remembered.

Congratulations again to Jack and Maggie, many thanks for inviting all of us to the beautiful island of Bali to enjoy such a wonderful and special wedding celebration!

Traditional Bridal Entrance of China

I am currently in China and having a wonderful time exploring this great country and seeing all of its history and heritage.  I was able to go to the Forbidden City yesterday, which is where all the emperors of China lived, and spent the day walking around the HUGE grounds as well as visit the Imperial Palace Museum.  We found many awesome historical artifacts including preserved fabrics (that I LOVE!) and a very interesting reproduction of the traditional Bridal Palanquin, a carrier used to carry the future empress and bride into the marriage ceremony.

I love how each culture had its own way of presenting brides and carrying forth marriage rituals.  This one in particular is special because it is part of my grandparents’ heritage and we always hear about brides being carried in to meet their future husband with a red cloth over their face so that they would be a surprise to their future husbands.  It was awesome to see a reproduction of such a tradition in person.

Take a look at some of the beautifully preserved fabrics of China Royalty!

Engagement Session: Ivane + Alex

We are so excited about our Bride Ivane and Groom Alex who are getting married this October!  Kinsley Wong, SF Based Photographer, did a fantastic job of capturing their engagement session and it is a pleasure for us to share it with you all.

Can’t wait for all the details to unfold for this “glam-to-be” wedding!

David + Natalie’s Photobooth Fun

Vintage Photobooths with props have been all the rage in the wedding industry and I was so excited when David and Natalie decided to provide a photobooth for their guests to enjoy at the reception as well!  David and Natalie’s very cool photobooth was supplied by Glass Coat Photobooth, located in SF, and they came bringing cases and cases of props that many of the guests really had fun with.  Not only is this a great activity for guests, it’s also a great keepsake that guests will remember the wedding by and shamelessly post on their respective social media walls.  Photobooths are also great photo ops for the Bride and Groom.  We had such a wonderful time this past Saturday coordinating David and Natalie’s wedding, the 6 months of planning every detail surely paid off, look for pictures on our blog and gallery soon =)

David + Natalie, the happy Bride and Groom getting their groove on in the photobooth

Of course, given the opportunity, we couldn’t resist getting in there ourselves to take some pictures and have some fun.  Ivy, our Graphics Designer and Event Manager is on the left, and I’m on the right.

Congratulations to David and Natalie again for saying “I Do” in such a beautiful, fashionable and fun manner.  We will be posting pictures up soon so stay tuned =)
