It’s an “All things Belle Epoche” Week
I absolutely love period history, especially times like the Belle Epoque Era in which fashion was so influential and connected to what was happening in society. Lately, there seems to be a revival of the Belle Epoque Era with the movie, Cheri, starring Michelle Pheiffer in theatres now and Fashion Houses such as Chanel and Dior taking this era on by storm. Begun in France, the Belle Epoque Era was also referred to as “The Golden Age” where society was bustling with opulance and riches, forever marking the beginning of the Turn of the Century. People were heavily influenced by Orientalism from being able to travel the world, and brought those influences of oriental silks, the bird motif and decadent jewels and foods back to begin what is the Belle Epoque Era.
Because I do love this era for all the fashions and the lifestyle that it represents, it is officially an “All Things Belle Epoque” Week! So, stay closely tuned this week as we unveil all the wedding gowns, decor and accessories of the Belle Epoque Era that will surely inspire a modern, art-noveau filled Belle Epoque wedding! Below is a preview of what’s to come!
