What are the best flowers that Brides will find for the Fall Season?

Fall is a beautiful time of year, blooming with darling dahlias, hydrangeas, zinnias, lavenders, crocosmia, garden roses and sunflowers in vibrant colors.   Fall is particularly peak season for dahlias and hydrangeas so it’s great to take advantage of the different choices of colors and varieties offered.  It’s best to find flowers that thrive in the season you are getting married in because the prices are the best at that time of year.   However, you do not have to limit yourself to the flowers that grow in that season specifically.  For example, some people think peonies and tulips are not available in the Fall and only available for Spring, but that’s actually not true.  From November to January, we receive beautiful imported peonies from  New Zealand and Israel.  Imported and greenhouse tulips are available at that time as well.

What are some of the color trends that are popular with current Fall Brides?

Brides like to use colors that match the season and context.  For Fall, we always see a lot of orange, yellow, chocolate brown, burgundy and earth tones for Floral Color Choices.  Amongst those colors, orange is always a bit hit for Fall.  If you are someone who prefers monochromatic hues, orange, yellow and red make for a very nice color combination.  If you are someone who likes strong contrast in colors, complementary colors such as orange & purple may be your best choice.  If you like vibrant shades, oranges & magenta are colors to consider.

What is the current color trend for Fall 2010?

In general, orange and hints of brown are popular color choices for Fall.  However this year, Black & White is making a huge comeback!  This combination is modern, classy, sleek and fun.  Best of all, it’s versatile so you can express yourself however you want to.

What do you recommend for Brides who love the rustic/vintage theme?

For a rustic & vintage style, my first choice would be a garden rose bouquet.  There are so many color choices for Fall garden roses, and they are simply beautiful and extremely fragrant.  It is definitely the flower of choice for an Anthropologie,  “Shabby Chic”, vintage style.  Another personal favorite of mine in this motif would be a dahlia arrangement.  They are a popular Fall flower with feathery petals that are simply romantic, whimsical, and perfect for a rustic and vintage wedding.

What do you recommend for the Contemporary and Modern Bride?

For a classic & modern style, I recommend mini calla lilies & cymbidium orchids.  These simple and clean flowers create a very nice contrast when combined together, but can also be very elegant by themselves.  They are not specifically Fall flowers and can be available throughout the entire year.

I love this wedding photographed by Amelia Lyon of her cousin Kaitlyn marrying her sweetheart Jordan.  The color scheme of the couple was navy blue, white and aqua blue, which matched perfectly with their wedding theme that told the story of how they fell in love by the sea.  There was not one detail left out; the whimsical decor, table designs, seashore elements and vintage spin on their wedding design was done to perfection, truly displaying the couple’s love and adoration for the beach and all its romance.  I really love this wedding for countless reasons and I think you will too!

Beautiful shot of the wedding party, I love how the groom and his groomsmen are all wearing white suits with navy blue ties, the styling for the entire bridal party is spot on!

This is the photographer’s favorite photo, I can definately see why!

Did I mention how perfect the attention to detail and decor was for this wedding?  The nautical theme with the striped linens, seashore elements and personal photos of the couple truly show the whimsy, fun and adoration that the couple have for one another.

More details!  Again, the decor is perfection.  One of my favorite elements of their wedding is the self addressed postcard that the couple designed and issued out to the guests to mail back after the wedding.  It’s so personal and charming don’t you think?  Their bottled sand with a simple ribbon stating “Beside the seashore we fell in love” makes me swoon!

This photo screams vintage Hollywood Glam.  The lighting is absolutely amazing!
