Mamie + Derek Married! – A look Behind the Scenes

We had an amazing wedding on Sunday at the Thomas Fogarty Winery in Woodside, CA to celebrate Mamie and Derek’s wedding. The day started out as exciting as ever as we were playing the guessing game of rain or shine. Thankfully, we decided to still have the ceremony on the lawn with the million dollar view of the Bay and though it was so windy and a bit chilly, it was well worth it. Take a peek at our behind the scenes photos of some of the day’s festivities. We worked with a fantastic group of vendors for this wedding including Elle Jae Photography so when the official photos come out, we will share them with all of you as well. Can’t wait for that and congratulations to Mamie and Derek, your wedding was filled with so much love and so much fun!

Here are some custom made programs that we designed and produced for the couple as well as some bubble wands that the guests used to congratulate the happy couple after their I Do’s. Later on in the evening, I saw some of the guests still blowing bubbles at the reception which signifies that these were a definite hit!

For the Escort Cards, our wonderful friends at Milk Glass Vintage Rentals provided two very beautiful, rustic doors for us to display our cards. The guests loved this display and we are so happy that they liked our design!

We also designed and created a seating chart to help the guests find their tables better since we didn’t use traditional numbers as table indicators. A nice rustic box was also provided for the cards.

A part of the ceremony design was based on colorful paper wheels and we carried them on through to some of the other parts of the wedding. We also had a rustic and whimsical theme so for the dinner reception, we had chalkboard signs for the Bride and Groom chairs and for the cocktail reception, we had a custom chalkboard of the menu…this was actually perfect since the catering was done by Le Papillon so our chalkboard usage was very fitting for the French cuisine!

We created this display for the shot of the rings, I absolutely love this photo because it is complete rustic charm.

For the Dinner Reception, tables were named after the couple’s favorite restaurants and a description of why each was so special were placed on custom made labels (by us!) on wine bottles. We had a mix of two designs for the tables, one with lanterns filled with flowers and the other of alternating vase heights with tulips.

Mamie and Derek’s favorite game was taboo and they wanted all their guests to have something fun to do at their tables as well so we put together bundles of Taboo Cards per table with a note letting the guests know to have a little fun.

Derek’s mom is just one of the sweetest and most adorable of people that you will ever meet. She actually made all the wedding favors which were home made English Toffee! She’s incredible!

The amazing cake was created by Cake Coquette with a mix of red velvet and strawberry flavors and let me tell you, this was one of the best wedding cakes that I’ve ever tasted! One of my favorite moments of the wedding was the couple’s First Dance because it was so sweet and so filled with love.

Laced with Love

I am totally crazy for anything with lace embellishments because it not only gives the feeling of old world elegance and romance (such as from the Marie Antoinette Era), it also has the ability to give off a very soft and sweet feeling like the shabby chic style that so many of us love! It is only fitting that we are starting the week off right with beautiful and sensuous things by giving an ode to lace, inspired decor and accents. Happy Monday!

Happy Friday everyone, cheers to an insane need for a major sugar rush for the weekend! I have to confess that I am a bonafide sugar queen and my latest sweet obsession is with fluffy white cakes that emulate the intricate designs and details of wedding dresses. There’s something so soft about these cakes that make them so perfectly imperfect that really makes me melt. From fluffy sugar flowers to ruffles and beading emulated from dresses, these cakes are just so perfect and are a huge trend right now as opposed to structured fondant cakes. The Anthropologie in all of us has come out to play and I think it’s safe to say, we’re all loving it!

By the way, for all of you who do not know, Anthropologie has just unveiled a new Wedding line called BHLDN, which stands for Beholden and in Dutch, means “to keep”. By the way, HUGE shoutout to my dear sister, Ivy, who also does our in house graphics for stepping in and uploading a bunch of things when my internet connection in Africa was poor…you’re the best sister ever!
