Destination Wedding in Bali

I had the great pleasure of having the opportunity to attend a Destination Wedding in Bali, Indonesia. It was absolutely luxuriously delightful in that it had the exotic factor, it was breathtakingly beautiful…and did I mention that it was in Bali? Jack and Maggie were married on July 4, 2010 and usually I wouldn’t miss fireworks for the world, but this time, I think my fourth of July was spectacular on its own accord. Have a look!

The wedding took place at the prestigious Conrad Hotel at the Infinity Chapel. This Chapel was incredible as it was all glass surrounded by a water with a walkway leading up to the chapel, with the ocean as its background. There were live, Balinese singers that sang as the Bride and Groom walked in and the maximum capacity of 60 made the ceremony all the more intimate and beautiful.

As the ceremony concluded, all the guests lined the walkway on the water to shower the Bride and Groom with rose petals. What a wonderful and surreal way to be greeted and congratulated by guests!

After the ceremony, all the guests were shuttled to another private hotel and again, the banquet room was an all glass room sitting afloat shallow water with tiki torches lining the wooden walkways. Ivory pomanders hung from the ceiling and exotic, local ivory and lime green flowers accentuated the tables.

Guests were pampered with a luxurious five course meal followed by a grueling roast of the Bride and Groom. All guests had a wonderful time at the reception, including yours truly (bottom right corner in a lime green dress) and the Bride and Groom truly gave all of us and especially themselves, a celebration that will be forever remembered.

Congratulations again to Jack and Maggie, many thanks for inviting all of us to the beautiful island of Bali to enjoy such a wonderful and special wedding celebration!

Vintage Tea Cups + Desert backdrop = Divine

Afternoon tea is one of my favorite past times ever! I love the idea of going to tea with friends over dainty chinaware and little tea sandwiches while catching up on life. Imagine how excited I was when I saw that a recent bride had the same love for tea and teacups! Jasmine Star and her lovely husband JD captured Stephanie and Stephen on their special day at DC Ranch in Scottsdale, Arizona. I loved how Jasmine described the couple with sharing old love “Love defined for what’s said in between the lines, thoughtful, and pure. A love like this is most seen when an elderly gentleman kisses his wife on the cheek after cutting her medicine, reminding her the pills are on the kitchen counter. Old love.” – Jasmine Star

Details of vintage tea cups and traditional garden tea motifs of moss and birdcages ran throughout the wedding. Set against the beauty of the solemn desert, their wedding was divine!

This bouquet of soft pastels is lovely, love the heirloom touch of adding vintage brooches on the bouquet ribbons.

Couldn’t resist slipping in a picture of the bride’s gorgeous (and sparkling) Kate Spade Shoe!

This shot of the couple is gorgeous! The soft pastel color palette matched the DC Ranch splendidly.

Is this not the epitome of rustic chic or what? Love the birdcages, always have, and absolutely adore the little teacups!

Ok, did I mention how much I love the birdcage motif and teacups yet? The bride and her mother designed all the decor and I love them!

These details are just too good. Love the vintage, homespun feel…it makes me feel like I’m in England.

I never knew that moss could be so beautiful! The moss covered chair was made by the bride, she’s beautiful and talented! (Quite artsy too!)

Oh my, this tablescape is absolutely dreamy…

This is the best part of it all, a teacup cake topper! The bride found this 100 year old teacup in a vintage store for $1, talk about great finds!

Plums and Dahlias DIY Decor

It’s no secret that I’m a huge fan of Decor 8, especially their Color Me Pretty Feature written by Leslie of A Creative Mint. Her most recent entry featured delicious inspirations of plum hues and dahlias and I hope you will be inspired by her decor ideas. I think tomorrow, I will definately buy some dahlias and decorate my own jar.

This would be a cute idea for a small gathering, finding architecturally interesting jars and tying the rims with plum inspired ribbons and finally topping them off with dahlias is perfection!

Find fabrics or decorative paper with plum hues or dahlia designs and create a chic, color and design coordinated garland for decor.

Find dahlia and plum inspired decorative paper, cut them into different gift tag shapes. This would be great for an Escort Card Board, the different sizes and designed tags will be adorable all pinned up!
