3.  Having your guests go to a destination wedding can turn out to be very costly for them, little things such as making sure there is a very well negotiated room block and treating your guests to a farewell brunch or lunch will be very much appreciated!  Having welcome gifts waiting in their guest rooms that pertain to your location, such as sun block, flip flops and beach towels for a Caribbean wedding, is also a charming touch.

4.  Most of the time, guests will stay longer than just a weekend if it is a fabulous location.  Help them out by providing an activities guide and points of interest booklet.  Go the extra mile and have your planner or yourself negotiate special activities rates for guests who are staying a little longer and interested in having a little fun.

5.  Hire a wedding planner!  Having a wedding in an unfamiliar destination with minimal pre-meetings and unfamiliar vendors is overwhelming without professional help!  One of the best things about having a destination wedding is that it is also a vacation for the bride and groom that is meant to be enjoyed.  Have a planner take care of your details, it will be one of the best investments that you will make!
