SAN FRANCISCO DESIGN GALLERIA WEDDING FEATURED IN MOD WEDDING

J+D'S wedding is a wedding that we will remember forever for two reasons:  1) insane flower wall and 2)epic balloon drop!  They had a color palette of blushes, pinks and golds and we set out to outift the Design Galleria in San Francisco in the most romantic way.  This wedding was featured on Mod Wedding and we're so thrilled to share some more details of the wedding right here!  Thank you Jasmine Lee for always doing an amazing job capturing the day!

For the ceremony, we created a dreamy atmosphere and custom designed a flower wall that Nicole Ha executed perfectly.  This flower wall would later serve as the backdrop of the SH table and was the anchor to the day's design!

The reception was nothing short of airy romance with draping around key corners of the room, paired with fluffy white and blush tables.

We worked with Pretty Please SF to create this custom cake...it was one of the best cakes of the year!  There's nothing like custom design and this cake below is proof of why.

This balloon drop that we brought in was pure epic-ness!  It was a surprise factor towards the end of the night and everyone absolutely loved it, including us!

Thanks J+D, I love looooved your wedding and it's one that so many people will remember always!

West Shore Cafe Wedding FEATURED in Tahoe Unveiled

We've been a little bit behind in blogging the lovely weddings that we've had for our beautiful couples, but we're going to get back on it!  We'll kickstart our blog features with this beautiful wedding that was featured on Tahoe Unveiled, one of our favorite blogs specializing in Tahoe weddings!  This wedding is also so fitting to be shared right now as the 2016 Olympics are currently happening in RIO and our groom was previously qualified to represent the US in skiing!  This was a beautiful wedding featuring the artistry of Nancy Liu Chin Designs, shot by Clane Gessel.

The bride and groom absolutely adore Lake Tahoe, they spend a lot of time there as they spent a season retrofitting a condo that they had purchased there.  They love being outdoors and as Lake Tahoe holds a special place in their hearts, they chose to have their wedding lakeside at Westshore Cafe.  They love being by the water and wanted to incorporate lake hues and blues into their wedding and the result was an unforgettable one!

The ceremony backdrop that Nancy Liu Chin created was just b-e-y-o-n-d!  Collectively, we draped the arbor on site and created an asymmetrical ceremony design that was so beautifully lush!  This is one of my favorite ceremony designs to date!

Inspired by lake hues, we created an escort wall that emulated the movement and colors of the lake.  The mountain scape that you see was hand drawn by the groom and was such a personal way to customize their day.  One of the most fun components of cocktail hour was the boat that they rented to take guests out for a spin on the lake!  We created a pendant flag system that encouraged guests to take a number for their turn on the boat.  It was a hit!

I Looooooooved this lounge that we created on the end of the dock with a custom cloth banner, personalization is key to any good wedding!

This bride and groom are a power couple.  The groom is an ex-skier for the US Olympic team and our bride is a custom jewelry designer!  She created custom rings and jewelry for her big day and it really doesn't get more personal than that.  You can check out her amazing work here.

The reception was a beautiful, modern mix of lake blues and fresh crisp whites!  Long tables filled both sides of the pier and we set a very special,  head table out on the dock.  Each guest received a customized seaglass with their names written on beautifully by A Fabulous Fete and we custom made acrylic table numbers with the groom's drawing to complete the look.

The lake at sundown was such a sight to see, with all the twinkling lights from the boats and the entire lake lit up by the setting sun...it was absolutely magical and breathtaking!

Congratulations to V+Z, your wedding was so full of love and filled to the brim with personal touches, just as you wanted.  It was certainly an affair to remember for all your guests that traveled to celebrate this special day with you!

2016 Pantone Colored Wedding...featured on 100 Layer Cake!

Wow, I can't believe how fast time flies!  It's already Q2 and as we are gearing up for our upcoming wedding season, we'll be sharing with you so many of the features that have happened since we last blogged (which was at the end of the year..yikes!).  I always say that we are so lucky to have the most amazing couples and the features that will be sharing will be proving my sayings so =)

We had so many weddings last year that were favorites and this one that was featured on 100 Layer Cake is extra special because we used the Pantone Colors of 2016, rose quartz and serenity blue, before it even became fashionable!  Trend forecasting is something that is really important to us and it's thrilling to see that this wedding went viral over social media because of the beautiful colors!  See the feature here and see our post below for commentary of how this beautiful wedding came to be!

H+K chose their wedding to be held in Santa Barbara.  It was an intimate destination wedding for 45 of their closest and family friends and it couldn't have been celebrated more beautifully!  They got married at the iconic and historic Santa Barbara Courthouse and one dress change later, held their reception at the dreamiest venue ever...San Ysidro Ranch!

I absolutely loved the stationery suite that we created for them, full of marble blues, blushes and gold foil!

Our bride rocked a short dress for her ceremony with the most amazing, electric blue heels and after the ceremony, guests were treated to gelato on the lawn.

This is one of the dreamiest receptions that we've designed, and the natural beauty of the setting didn't hurt!  We dreamed up a romantic tablescape of blush hues with lots and lots of lush blooms.  Huckleberry Karen Designs did a tremendous job in bringing our romantic vision come to life...I mean...look at all the blooms and that foliage that hangs so beautifully over the fire mantle!

All of the place settings were accented with gold rimmed glassware and china and we brought A Fabulous Fete on board to complete each place setting with beautiful, hand calligraphed place cards on marble blue cards.

Nordic Holiday Inspiration Shoot..Featured on Style Me Pretty Living!

It's almost Christmas and we are so excited that Style Me Pretty Living is sharing this Nordic inspired, holiday table and shoot with all of you today!  This shoot was inspired by my recent travels to Scandinavia (Denmark, Norway and Sweden); I often find inspirations from my travels around the world so this shoot was a labor of love and my personal way of saying "cheers" to Scandinavia for showing me the magic of their region!  See the full feature here and see some more photos from my shoot with Gladys Jem below.

If I had to summarize Scandinavian design in the simplest terms, they love utilizing natural elements such as wood and they like to incorporate playful elements into their designs such as childhood motifs of toys and the memories evoked of childhood.  They also like to use textures like furs and for the most part, a lot of Scandinavian design is very monochromatic, mostly in hues of whites, blacks and greys.  I decided to combine all of my favorite elements into this shoot and created a Modern, Scandinavian, California Holiday table by using elements of wood paired with furs, white and greenery.

We draped each of the dining chairs with a fur piece to create the feeling of warmth and coziness and used white to contrast against the wooden table and wall.  I love the wooden chargers that we brought in, paired with clear glass plates, topped with engraved wooden menus.  We used etched glassware and included a copper, moscow mule mug to celebrate the season and for whimsy, added a small white deer figurine per place setting.  For the floral design, we used lots and lots of eucalyptus paired with peonies (peonies in December?  Score!) and garden roses, accented with tall tapered candles in white.  We also added wooden trees as tabletop decor for whimsy and added a larger deer figurine to complete the table.

For extra whimsy (if you haven't noticed, we love using whimsical elements in our designs), we hung simple eucalyptus wreaths with checkered red ribbons, of varying sizes at varying heights, to complete the look and aesthetic of our holiday table.

It isn't a party unless there is a beverage station!  We created another custom, wooden engraved sign with the note "let's get festive" and created a holiday drink station of eggnog and hot chocolate.  I think that snow globes sometimes have a negative and cheesy connotation to them, but when I found this one of a golden moose, I knew that I had to have it and incorporated it into the beverage station.  Snow globes are nostalgic in a good way, it reminds me of the magic of Christmas that I experienced as a child and there's something about that memory that I want to re-live.

Nordic Holiday Shoot - 28.jpg

This shoot was one that was conceptualized on a whim over lunch with my pal Gladys Jem, I'm so grateful for her heart and her friendship and for the magic that we created for this shoot.

Wishing you and yours a magical Holiday season filled with love, warmth and the happiest of memories to come!

Solage Calistoga Wedding featured on Style Me Pretty!

We are absolutely thrilled that this beautiful wedding is featured on Style Me Pretty California today!  See the beautiful feature here and see more photos of the day below along with our commentary on the pretty!

J+C are a couple that have such a deep and intimate love for one another.  For their day, they wanted one that was full of romance, yet modern, that captured the essence of their venue in the best way.  We used a color palette of peaches and greys and set out to create a design that was accented by lace and lots and lots of candlelight!

Can I just say that her dress was to die for!!

For their invitation suite, we created one of the most beautiful suites ever that was a floral lover's dream.  We brought out the essence of the design with whimsical calligraphy and gorgeous floral liners.  This must have been one of the most liked suites via instagram that we've created to date.

Poppy's Petalworks did a beautiful job with the floral design.  We told them to keep the florals whimsical, flowy and romantic.  I love the bouquets that she created for the maids and the bride, the long lace ribbons really brought out the dreaminess that we were going for.

This ceremony design that we created for the couple is one of my favorites of all time.  We had an idea of creating something different by bringing in lounge furniture for the wedding party to sit on vs. having them stand in the front in traditional ceremonies.  I am so glad that the couple loved this idea to so that we can make this concept into a reality!

Our team hand stained panels of wood to create this wooden wall that we affixed the escort cards onto.  Again, Poppy's Petalworks did an amazing job framing this escort wall with gorgeous foliage, greenery and vines.

The reception space that we created was such a dream!  We had a vision to create an industrial, chic and dreamy setting and that's exactly what we did.  We did a combination of Kings Tables and Round Tables for the guest (we love combinations of different tables) and brought in a giant crystal chandelier to anchor the room.  Each place setting had beautiful french china, gold flatware and personalized menus that we created for each guests that were a contrast from the regular sized menus one would see at a wedding.  We accented each table with lots of tapered candles to create the dreamy setting that the bride and groom wanted.  I loved how everything turned out!

Villa Montalvo Wedding featured on Style Me Pretty!

We are absolutely thrilled that this beautiful, Tuscan Inspired, wedding is featured today on Style Me Pretty!  Amber and Joel are the sweetest couple that share such love and adoration for one another.  They met in school, fell in love, got engaged in Tuscany amidst their closest family and friends and got married this past June with notions of re-creating a Tuscan vibe and feeling for their wedding.  See the full feature on Style Me Pretty here and see more photos below including the description of their day as commentated by us!

This is the Inspiration Board that we created of Amber and Joel's Tuscan inspired wedding.  All great event design comes from a solid inspiration board.  See the wedding unfold based on what we dreamed up for them below!

In creating the design of the wedding, it was really important to Amber and Joel that everything was full of foliage, specifically olive branches and that the entire day felt like a giant, warm, intimate dinner party.  We set out to create this ambience using a calm palette of dusty blues and greys, paired with cremes and natural foliage.

Jen Huang hand illustrated the gorgeous save the date and inspiration suite for their wedding and it was so beautifully elegant and classic.

The ceremony was held at the Oval Garden at Villa Montalvo.  Our team hand painted the wooden welcome sign and designed the ceremony with a clean drape decked out in foliage garlands.  Natalie Bowen Designs did such a beautiful job in creating this dreamy look with bouquets of foliage, accented by Silk and Willow ribbons.

Villa-Montalvo-Wedding-11.png

Cocktail hour was held in the beautiful Spanish Court.  We created an Italian, rustic lounge for guests to enjoy their cocktails out.  Natalie Bowen Designs created the most beautiful floral garlands for the stairwell as well as the bar.  Custom, signature drinks of "Tuscan Lavender" and "Blackberry Whiskey Smash" were served at the bar and oh so delicious!

We wanted to bring the "farm to table" concept to life by inviting guests to take home jars of cooking herbs that had their names tied to the jars, beautifully calligraphed by Feast Calligraphy.  We hand dyed the jars to add dusty blues and purples to tie the theme together.

Villa-Montalvo-Wedding-21.png

To create the ultimate dinner party experience for guests that was inspired by Tuscany, we put together two long rows of farm tables to set the tone.  The tables were adorned with beautiful florals and foliage by Natalie Bowen Designs and guests were greeted by the beautiful pieces of Frances Lane for their dining pleasure.  We accented each place setting with custom, letterpressed menus that were also calligraphy by Feast Calligraphy and placed alternating accents of foliage at each place setting to further give the feeling of Tuscany.

Vintage Estate Wedding in Yountville

Sandra and Amar knew of one another in high school but never connected.  Unbeknown to Sandra, Amar secretly always had a thing for her and it wasn't until they both moved to New York, separately, that Amar gathered the courage to finally make his move and make Sandra his.  Since they both grew up in California and their families still resided in California, they decided to get married at the Vintage Estate in Yountville.  Inspired by the beautiful cuisine of Napa Valley and being that Sandra herself is in the wholesale foods business in New York, they wanted to infuse farm elements into their wedding by using herbs, fruits and vegetables as a design accent.  We had a blast incorporating these details into the design of their day and our pal, Delbarr Moradi, captured the details beautifully for you to enjoy below!

To incorporate the farm to table element into their wedding day, we created a wooden wall that had each guest's name strung to it with natural herbs used for cooking such as rosemary, thyme, basil and lavender.

For the reception, we chose a really light and fresh palette of lavender and cremes and incorporated artichokes into the floral design with the help of Ahana Design.  Each guest had a fig at their place setting and also had a crossword puzzle that was custom created by our team for guests to entertain themselves with.  On the back of the crossword puzzle was a marriage advice card that they used in lieu of a guestbook.  Watercolor menus were displayed on mini easels to further create the feeling of a natural and organic, farm to table feel.

Each guest was given a bottle of wine that was custom blended for the couple...how lucky were the guests!  Perfect Endings helped create the most beautiful watercolor cake in hues of lavenders and blues.

The evening was such a beautiful affair held under bistro lights in Napa Valley.  Thank you, Sandra and Amar, for having us along to celebrate your love!

Intimate Wedding at the Elizabeth Gamble Gardens

Wedding season is in full swing and as we continually produce dreamy weddings for our couple, it's always such a treat to get photos back of weddings that we've worked on earlier this year.  I love this wedding that we're about to share with you, it was an intimate wedding for 48 guests that was inspired by English Gardens in the countryside.  X and T wanted to create a really intimate feel for their day that was tailored and polished, full of blushes and cremes accented by lace, golds and whimsy.  If you follow our work, you'd know that that is our exact aesthetic!  This is the inspiration board that we created for them:

English Countryside Wedding Inspiration

This wedding was truly a labor of love for us because we not only did full event planning, full design and custom stationery for this couple, we also did all of the floral design!  Special thanks to the incredibly talented Hannah Suh Photography for the photos, enjoy this intimate wedding celebration featured below!

The bride loved peonies and how perfect was it that the wedding was in May, which is prime peony season!

The bride loved peonies and how perfect was it that the wedding was in May, which is prime peony season!

For the ceremony, we created a simple design to accent the already beautiful grounds of the Elizabeth Gamble Gardens.  Our team hand painted the ceremony sign and we did a simple and clean, draped ceremony front for the altar and had flower bunches with long ribbons lining the aisle.

For cocktail hour, guests were invited to find their names on a beautiful display of cards with lace accents hanging above a bed of soft and fluffy flowers.

The reception was held indoors and in true #cegwedding fashion, we gave them room a facelift with some drape to create a clean, blank palette to feature the reception design that was created for them.  We had two long dining tables with white vineyard chairs and velvet damask linens in white accented with blush pink chiffon runners for the table.  We adorned each table with lush, blush and creme blooms and accented each place setting with Gold Rimmed Chargers, Gold rimmed glassware and gold flatware.  The bride and groom loves Paris Baguette so we incorporated mini strawberry tarts with each guest's name on mini flags as place cards.  We created a lace inspired menu to accent the table settings and had candles galore to really give it a romantic and intimate vibe.  The result?  The dreamiest of settings.

Thank you again to X and T for entrusting us with planning your day and for letting us craft your English Countryside Garden inspired wedding!

Sherbert Inspired Wedding at the Omni San Francisco

We started off this year with a fun and whimsical, sherbert inspired city wedding at the Omni Hotel in San Francisco.  We're all about the little details that can add punch and personality into your wedding design and for this one, we played with fun sherbert colors and patterns!

We kept the ceremony simple with a draped front and drew in color by outfitting 1/3 of the chairs with custom modern patterns in corals.  The bride and groom designed their own stationery under our artistic direction and the watercolor programs added additional pops of colors to the ceremony space.

For the escort cards, we wanted to show a rainbow of sherbert hues and arranged each guest name so that it looked like the colors of the rainbow...#cueskittlescommercial

What I love about the Omni Hotel is that they have fabulous chandeliers in place that run down the middle of the room.  They were perfect to put our head table under.  The custom chair cushions that we created also added an extra element of whimsy to the head table which I loved!

Sneak Peak of Prettiness

Happy first week of June!  We designed a really fun styled shoot last week and just wanted to share some sneak peaks with you.  Enjoy the images and may it bring some inspiration and color into your week!

Loulu Palm Estate Destination Wedding in Hawaii

We are absolutely giddy to have two features in the current issue of Utterly Engaged Magazine Volume 3!  But today I would like to highlight a beautiful wedding that we had the pleasure of planning, designing and doing floral design for at the Loulu Palm Estate in Hawaii!  This wedding is near and dear to my heart because the bride is the sister of one of my dear photographer pals, Delbarr Moradi, and when a fellow vendor trusts you with their family's wedding, well, it's a mental note to self to make it an amazing one!

Sam and Sogol are an amazing couple who have eyes only for one another.  Their smiles are as big as their hearts and when they came to me for their destination wedding, we were inspired to create a colorful wedding that shows off their fun personalities.  I loved the color palette that Sogol was drawn to, which was bright and bold colors, so we set out to create a fuchsia and teal design that was accented by golds and blacks.  How's that for bold?!  She also loves pendant flags so we used that as a source of inspiration for the paper goods that we designed for them, as well as created pendant flags to hang in the tent that we set out at the estate.  I love everything about this couple and the details that we put together for this one, so read on about this fun and fabulous fete!

I loved the bouquets that we created for the gals, they're so bright, cheery and mod!

I loved the bouquets that we created for the gals, they're so bright, cheery and mod!

Some things are blessings in disguise...such as the news of scattered rain the day before the wedding.  This called for a last minute order of a clear tent for the ceremony and it really was an epic call!

We wanted to bring a little hipster fun into the escort card display so we ordered custom sunglasses with the couple's hashtag on them, affixed with their table assignments, for guests to wear throughout the day and keep as a souvenir.  The guests really loved them and I love that they really wore them the entire day!  This was a festive and colorful touch that was definitely one of my favorite details of the year.

How rad does the wedding party look on the beach?

How rad does the wedding party look on the beach?

We designed a tented reception at the private estate that was bursting with color and adorned the ceiling with pendant flags and bistro lights.  We chose colorful fuchsia linens and paired them with gold chargers and bright flowers in gold containers.  My favorite detail of the reception tables were the custom menu wraps that we created with sayings such as "love, adore, aloha, believe and hope" to grace each place setting and tucked personalized menus within each for an added personal touch.  Guests loved these as there was an assortment of sayings per table and guests had a great time sharing the ones that they got!

Instead of a cake, the couple opted to have cupcakes from Hokulani Bakeshop and all I can say is, "yum"!

Love this shot of our beautiful tent all lit up under the evening Hawaii skies!

Sam and Sogol, you both are so beautiful inside and out.  Thank you so much for your trust in us and for having us along to share the experience of your destination wedding in Hawaii!  It was such an honor and beautiful planning journey and I hold you both so dear and close to my hearts!

A Romantic, Dusty Blue, Pink and Gold Wedding

We hope that you had a beautiful and amazing Memorial Day Weekend!  We had the loveliest weekend with two weddings!  Today I'm sharing some detail shots of one of the weddings we had that had a romantic aesthetic with a color palette of dusty blues, pinks and golds.  The photos you are about to see were shot personally by me and I can't wait to share the actual photos by the photographer with you all soon!  Enjoy this beautiful week!

This is the inspiration board that I created for our couple:

Here are the details of their day featuring lovely blooms from my pal Huckleberry Karen Designs!

I'm a strong believer that the invitation suite sets the tone for your guests and for your wedding and I'm so thankful that all our lovely couples think so too!  I am enamored by the stationery suite that we created for this wedding.  This goes down in the books as one of my favorites!

Transforming spaces is one of the things that we do best.  We transformed their reception site to fit the aesthetic that we wanted to achieve for 456 guests!  Loved the escort display we created with dusty blue drapes and floral touches.

Current Floral Trends 2015

Chances are, if you are visiting our page, you are into romance, whimsy, and immensely dreamy things.  After all, if I had to summarize our style, those three things are exactly what makes us who we are, Modern Romantics.

Every component matters in designing your wedding to be a perfect rendition of what you've dreamed of and perhaps one of the most important components, are the flowers!  Friends, never EVER skimp on the flowers.  Many people will spend so much money on their photographer (a good photographer is worth every. single. penny.), and some will say, I don't want to spend too much on the flowers...they will only last for a day.  But let me give you some food for thought, you hire your photographer to take amazing photos because you see the work that they've done through their features on blogs/magazines and you think that if you have that photographer, your wedding will turn out the same as what you've seen.  BUT, the key is this, you have to give your photographers beautiful things to photograph and flowers are always at the top of the list to create that beautiful and dreamy wedding that you've envisioned.  So, make strides to create a healthy floral budget to accomplish the dreaminess that you have your heart set on.

Now that that's out of the way, I wanted to share my favorite floral trends that are happening right now, because they are downright beautiful and what dreams are made of.  This is the wedding rendition of what Bazaar Magazine's previous column "buy, keep, toss" is, spoken in the language of flowers.  Round, tight, centerpieces and bouquets are no longer in trend.  Tall Centerpieces are not in trend anymore either.  Instead, opt for flowy and whimsical arrangements, because they evoke that lust for romance in its purest form.  New shapes in bouquets take the form of an oblong arrangement (think football) and free flowing arrangements that evoke the feeling of just having been picked from the garden.  Centerpieces too, favor asymmetrical designs that are free flowing, loose in arrangement and bursting with foliage.  While tall centerpieces will always be a favorite to bring the glam and drama into a reception space that has tall ceilings, consider hanging a beautiful floral chandelier to fill the negative space rather than to raise the height of your flowers on the table.   I've rounded up some inspirations from some of the floral designers in the industry that inspire me daily for your enjoyment.

So go ahead, channel your inner free spirit when considering the floral design that you want for your wedding celebration.  I promise, you won't regret it.

Modern Wedding at the St. Regis San Francisco

Every so often, you get the chance to meet people that you have instant chemistry with and as time goes on, you find that you've found lifelong friends in them.  Meet this fabulous couple that I've affectionately nicknamed "MJ", who have become just that through the process of planning their wedding over dinners and drinks.  Michelle is a gal who's after my own heart, a girly girl who has fabulous style with a heart of gold and Jon, who is a "get to the point", straight-shooter kinda guy.  Yeap, they are definitely my kind of people.  They are a bold, sassy, modern and colorful couple and we set out to create a wedding design that matched exactly who they are as a couple...and I just love everything about it!

Their wedding design is not for the faint of heart with a fun color palette of navy blue, fuchsia and elements of sequins and mixed textile patterns paired with acrylic detailing.  I always tell my couples that I am not one to shy away from color and patterns so should you dare, I will take it to the next level that aims to dazzle.

See how their day unfolds below.  Caution, this is one of the longest blog posts I've done so beware, you've been warned! =)

Jon is in Marketing and is drawn specifically to modern and sleek design so for their invitation suite and wedding stationery, we used a lot of infographics which I LOVE!

Remember how I mentioned that Michelle has fabulous style?  Yes, feast your eyes on her Badgley Mischka dress, Christian Louboutin and Jimmy Choo shoes.  What a dream!

In my humble opinion, their ceremony was out of this world beautiful.  It's one of my favorite ceremony designs because it's just so modern and different.  We draped the St. Regis tent in chiffon and added some ceiling swag and a beautiful crystal chandelier to set the tone.  We created circular seating for the ceremony and had such a modern ceremony design with a white table filled with pink and fuschia blooms created by my pal, Nicole Ha, and how pretty are the acrylic pedestals with the lush arrangements?!

For the reception, we wanted to create a really modern design.  We brought in white sequin linens and geometric blue patterns paired with the Infiniti chair and accented each place setting with corresponding patterned napkins.  Tables were named after the couple's favorite fine dining establishments in the city and were featured on acrylic panels.

My philosophy in designing weddings is to really create a custom "brand" for each couple. I think we've done just that with this reception with the infographic paper goods and the "MJ" logo we created, which is pretty much everywhere.  I don't think any of their guests could forget the look and feel of this wedding.

Since MJ loves dining about town, they created their version of a zagat guide that we designed as favors for guests to take home.  MJ shared with their guests why they love each restaurant they chose and listed their personal favorites at each restaurant for guests to try.  Now that's going the distance to really personalize their day and create a one of a kind experience for guests!

Modern Sparkle Wedding at the Rosewood Menlo Park...Featured on Wedding Chicks!

We had a really pretty wedding featured on Wedding Chicks last week.  Cathy and Chhy are a modern couple that love glitz and glam.  They were originally inspired by the movie, The Great Gatsby, and loved the feeling of throwing a glitzy bash.  Inspired by metal tones and sparkle, we set out to create a modern, one of a kind design for the couple and the result was a true reflection of who they were as a couple:  modern, fun, sparkly and glam!  See the feature on Wedding Chicks here and scroll on for our commentary of their day!

All I can say about the ladies is that their shoe game was strong!!  And as a shoe lover myself, I loved it!

Cathy and Chhy's ceremony is one of my favorite designs that we've created because it's just so modern and fun!  She loves mirrors so we created lots of signage on decals that we put on mirrors.  For the ceremony, we created a wall of tassels (per Studio Mucci) and hand crafted geometric cages that hung from aisle chairs with blooms inside, accented by more tassels!  I loved that the couple trusted us with our vision for the ceremony, it was truly spectacular!

Another fun element of the ceremony?  We created a confetti bar for guests to create their own confetti bag with.  The guests congratulated the couple after the "I Do's" and the image captured by U Me Us Studios is one in a million.

For Cocktail Hour, we used a lot of geometric shapes as a motif and created a wall of hanging geometric shapes with guest names.  To bring the design full circle, we provided triangles for guests to sign on to create a geometric art piece as a memento of their wedding day and the special people that celebrated with them.  I love creating custom ideas like this and seeing them come to life is extra special!

Romantic Blush San Francisco Wedding at the St. Regis, San Francisco...featured on Style Me Pretty!

We were so thrilled to have this wedding featured on Style Me Pretty California!  Susanna and Johnny were a dream couple, they truly trusted the artistic direction that we had to offer and let us run with a vision of dreamy, blush, romantic goodness inspired by the ethereal galaxy that we live in.  See their glamorous wedding that was held at the prestigious St. Regis Hotel in San Francisco, featured on Style Me Pretty right here and see our commentary below and how we made this dream wedding come to life!

For the ceremony, we decked out the ballroom in white chiffon draping and used mirrors as an accent piece.  Instead of a traditional program, we had a "run of program" affixed to one of the mirrors as a welcome piece.  It was tres chic!

If you follow our work, you know that we love to do installation walls!  As I mentioned above, we were inspired by the galaxy and we decided to name the guest tables after constellations!  We created a wall full of constellations that had guest names designed around each constellation.  We were first inspired by this concept via a candle that I found at Anthropologie....creativity and inspiration really comes from everywhere!!

The reception space is really one of my favorite receptions ever.  To create an elegant feel, we draped the entire ballroom and accented the room in blush pink lighting.  We draped each entrance for drama and had all the tables draped in different fabrics with different textures to create a dreamy feel.  One of my favorite things about the reception is that we combined different tables of Kings tables, oval tables and square tables to really give it a modern feel.  A combination of mixed tables is always my favorite thing to do!  We also used ghost chairs to further create a modern and galactic feel.  Each place setting was accented with a diamonte charger and each table was accented with the most beautiful blooms!

Elegant San Francisco Wedding at the Palace Hotel...Featured on Style Me Pretty!

I can't express how humbled I am that Style Me Pretty featured two of our weddings last week!  We'll be sharing both of the features on our blog this week, starting with this timeless and elegant wedding at the Palace Hotel!  If you are a reality TV junkie, you might know my couple!  Samantha and Mike were contestants on the first season of NBC's Love in the Wild!  From the start, they chose each other and stuck with one another throughout the entire season, battled all the challenges together, fell in love with one another along the way, AND ultimately won the show and traveled the world together compliments of NBC!  Talk about a fairytale love story in real life!!!

Samantha wanted to have a really timeless, classic and elegant wedding so we used a clean color palette of whites and greys with accents of golds and silvers.  We used subtle travel motifs as well as a general theme of "I Choose You" to tell their journey to love through design.  The result?  An utterly elegant and glamorous wedding with lots and lots of modern details, glitter, and the most beautiful couple, ever!  See how their wedding came together below and don't forget to check out the feature on Style Me Pretty here!

For the ceremony, we created a really modern and clean design with a draped ceremony front, dressed with a white modern table with the most beautiful blooms from my pal Nancy Liu Chin.

I absolutely LOVED the escort wall display that we created for guests to find their seats with.  We used white feathers to symbolize a "flight of journey" and we hand dipped all the feathers in metallic gold paint and glitter.  These were so fab.

The reception was one glamorous affair held in the Garden Court of the Palace Hotel.  With high ceilings, chandeliers and the most beautiful glass roof, it really is such a regal setting that automatically takes one back in time to a gilded era.  We dressed all of the tables in silver and sequin linens and accented the tables with lush, white blooms.  I especially loved the place settings that we created for the reception with diamonte chargers and menus that we hand dipped in gold glitter!  Suffice to say, the reception shined!

THIS is a glitter and sequin lover's dream!

A custom cake topper with the words "I Choose You" was created to pay homage to the fact that since the beginning of their journey together, they chose one another from the very start and continued to choose one another throughout the journey to the very end.  I love details like this that tell a couple's unique story.

Samantha and Mike, you have one of the best love stories that one could ever dream of and the best part about it all, is that I know that you are as in love with one another today as ever.  Happy First Anniversary to the both of you!!!

Glamourous tented wedding at Viansa Winery in Sonoma..featured on Style Me Pretty!

We are ecstatic that this romantic, pretty and dreamy wedding is featured on Style Me Pretty today!  I loved Ester and Brian as a couple, they were one of those couples that you knew were just crazy about each other and that's my favorite kind of love.  They were also so immensely sweet as people and had such sweet souls.  One of the things that I loved most about them was that they let us run away with the design and trusted our design aesthetic and all of the crazy ideas that we threw at them.  Trust is and will always be, the most important factor in any relationship (especially with your vendors) and when trust is present, amazing things happen.  We had an amazing group of vendors that helped pull the entire design together (see credits below) and had one of my personal favorites, Jen Huang, capture the day in the most beautiful way.  See the full feature here.

For their wedding, they really wanted something that was romantic and dreamy.  Being that their venue was set in beautiful Sonoma, we wanted to create something that was just that with lots of lace, ribbons, chiffon, and flowers in every way that we can use them (traditional, hanging, garlands....my kind of couple!).  With every great design, we started out by creating an inspiration board of the overall aesthetic that we wanted to achieve.

We then carefully designed, created and brought in all the details that would create their romantic and dreamy day.

Sketch to Reality - Brix Vineyards Wedding

Happy Friday!  In a society that is fixated on pinterest (myself included!), sometimes the only way to present new and one of a kind ideas to our couples is to go old school...which means, back to the drawing board..literally!  Here is a sketch that we presented to one of our couples of a way to incorporate their love of books, bookmarks, and reading into an escort display that is, truly, a customized, one of a kind design.  As we always like to say, we don't do boring and we don't do cookie cutter, so keeping it new and keeping it fresh is always at the top of our list!

This pretty wedding will be featured in the next issue of The Knot Magazine and we'll be sure to share it on our blog as well when the time comes =)  Have an amazing weekend lovelies!
